Virginia Living Museum

The Virginia Living Museum is a fantastic open-air museum located at 524 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601. The museum features  many native species of Virginia. The museum's mission is to promote education and the connection between animals and humans. It has hosted more than two million students since opening in 1987. There are classes available that correlate with state standards and are grade level-specific. The Virginia Living Museum employs more than 500 volunteers and is the only living museum in the country with both AZA and AAM accreditation.

The Virginia Living Museum was originally the Junior Nature Museum and Planetarium, founded by the Warwick Rotary Club and the Junior League of Hampton Roads.
